Welcome to Townsend House Medical Centre
This website outlines the services we provide for our patients and will give you information that we hope you will find useful. We also offer some interactive services which we hope you will find beneficial.
We are three doctors working in partnership from modern purpose built premises, assisted by a full Primary Health Care Team of salaried GP's, practice nurses, district nurses, health visitor and administrative staff.
Dr Lindsay Slater
We would like to announce that after more than 30 years working in the NHS, Dr Slater has decided to retire. We appreciate this maybe unsettling for some patients and would like to reassure you that we will make every effort to ensure you continue to receive the highest level of care. Dr Slater's patient list will be shared amongst the other GP's in the practice and we would like to give you the opportunity to choose the doctor that you are the most comfortable with. Unfortunately Dr Hurst and Dr Pickford are already at full capacity, but Dr Pitt, Dr Daniels, Dr Seaver and Dr Rochester all have spaces on their lists. If you know which doctor you would like to see please contact the surgery. If you need to know more about the doctors, their details can be found in the staff section and in our practice leaflet. We are sure you would like to join us in thanking Dr Slater for all her hard work over the years and wishing her a long and happy retirement.
Patient Information Session 13 August 2pm to 4pm
Ever wanted to know how the surgery runs: how your referral gets made; how your prescriptions get ordered or have an in-depth review of the appointment systems, well this is your chance. Come and meet the staff and have your questions answered.
Minor Illness Service
Townsend House Medical Centre are delighted to announce a new Minor Illness service for our patients. We are pleased to welcome Aimee Seward who will be joining our team in April 2014. Aimee has previously worked in Chard Minor Injury Unit and is highly skilled in managing minor illnesses and injuries. She will be doing a daily clinic, Monday to Friday for patients registered at the practice with minor illness or injury problems who previously would have had to travel to Honiton MIU to be seen. If you have any queries about this new service please don't hesitate to contact the surgery.
A day in the life of Your GP
The Doctors together with our Patient Representative Group thought it might be useful to provide a synopsis of the average day encountered by the GP's. This has been produced on the basis of a typical day, however, there are days when deviation occurs such as, emergencies that can come in at any time and these must take priority over routine work.
