Dr Pitt

After many months deliberation it is with a heavy heart that I have decided after 26 years working at Townsend House to take a 6month sabbatical from the practice from January 2015 with a view to full retirement from general practice as from July 2015. During those 6 months I will be continuing my dermatological practice and will also from time to time be conducting operating lists for the practice.

I have been lucky enough to have worked with some inspirational fellow colleagues and some wonderful staff over that time. And I am delighted to say that Dr Danielle Harris has agreed to cover my 6 month sabbatical for me. Some of you may already have met Dani who has been working with practice for the last 4 months or so. I am sure you will agree that she has proven to be an outstanding and dedicated young doctor and I am sure my patients and indeed those of the practice generally will be delighted to hear that she is taking over from me.

I wish all of my patients the very best for the future and am very pleased to know that they will be receiving outstanding medical care in the future from Dani and everyone else at Townsend.

Minor Illness Service
Townsend House Medical Centre are delighted to announce a new Minor Illness service for our patients. We are pleased to welcome Aimee Seward who will be joining our team in April 2014. Aimee has previously worked in Chard Minor Injury Unit and is highly skilled in managing minor illnesses and injuries. She will be doing a daily clinic, Monday to Friday for patients registered at the practice with minor illness or injury problems who previously would have had to travel to Honiton MIU to be seen. If you have any queries about this new service please don't hesitate to contact the surgery.

A day in the life of Your GP
The Doctors together with our Patient Representative Group thought it might be useful to provide a synopsis of the average day encountered by the GP's. This has been produced on the basis of a typical day, however, there are days when deviation occurs such as, emergencies that can come in at any time and these must take priority over routine work.
